Shame on you the FSA are terrorist mercenaries from Turkey run by CIA agents and all the Syrians support Assad. If this was not the case Assad would be long gone.
You want a good morally upright challenge take the 'Save Quadaffi' one available on older version of this mod ;').

You want a good morally upright challenge take the 'Save Quadaffi' one available on older version of this mod ;'). "I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it" In my opinion Assad is a dictator and the FSA are Syrian citizens fighting for freedom. If all Syrians support Assad then why have there been so many protests? I also think that Qaddafi was a tyrant and I am glad the Libyan people freed themselves from his rule. As Thomas Jefferson once said "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure," Anyway, I think that Assad's government is doomed because he has lost the consent of the governed, and the consent of the governed cannot be regained with guns and tanks. Again, clearly your opinion is very different from mine but I respect it nonetheless. ;D

The current Libyan government is much better than Qaddafi's government but they are weak, the streets are dangerous. Once the new Libyan government gets stronger everything will be okay. In Syria, once Assad falls the United States will make sure that the more secular opposition is given enough power to keep the extremists away. It will take a long time, but Syria will eventually be free.

"People willing to trade their freedom for temporary security deserve neither and will lose both." -Benjamin Franklin The difference between Syria then and Syria in the future is that under Assad and the Ba'ath party no one is free, everyone is oppressed equally except the Alawites, the Alawites are above everyone else. After Assad falls everyone will eventually be free and equal, there will be no more oppression. It will take a long time, maybe decades, but it will happen. The U.S. will not directly intervene like we did in Iraq, instead we will support a free Syria from the outside. Listen, we screwed up in Iraq, we defeated an evil dictator but then we let crime and corruption destroy Iraq's newly won freedom. We will not make the same mistake again. Ever since the Assad family took over the Syrian people have been oppressed and they have lived under a dictator. The last time Syrians were free was under Nasser during the United Arab Republic.

I see it too, a huge secular movement rising in the middle east ;D I won't pretend I know what's happening in Syria but it is clear that the only opposition to Assad in Syria are muslim rebels. I'm not aware of any secular movement opposing or fighting Assad...and huge amount of those "freedom fighters" are muslim mercenaries that just can't wait to create new secular government after they dispose of Assad But let's not get too worked up about the game

I know what freedom is like. The world is more free now than it has ever been since the end of the Roman Empire. Typing in all caps will not prove your point any more effectively. I am trying to debate this issue with you in a civil and calm way. I respect your viewpoint but you have yet to provide me with a concrete example of your own opinions. What is freedom in your eyes? To you, is freedom democracy or is it something else? number47 is right, there is no need to get angry about this. I am simply trying to have a real debate with you, I'm not angry, only you are angry.

Don't take his anger personally as we all know you are not the reason he is agitated. Having witness bloody war in my own country two decades ago, I can understand his agitation by this topic. It is hard to stay calm while discussing a conflict that has such a huge impact on you, your family and your friends with someone from other side of the world. We all get served information from the media and that information varies depending is the medio pro-current government or pro-rebels. There are truth and lies everywhere, with no exception because it is only natural that all sides want to portrait their cause as the righteous one... I still believe this kind of topics are "too hard" (or "too heavy", not sure which is the right term in english) for forums like this. Games should provide some kind of refuge from our real life stress and problems not increase it. We should just enjoy the game and wonderfull mod Fistalis created. ;D

In fact we have designated some of the groups fighting in Syria as terrorist groups that are supported by Al Qaeda. We only support the secular FSA.

The FSA is a terrorist group run by CIA....LONG LIVE ASSAD! Source? Evidence? Elaborate? Spouting propaganda does not make for a very convincing argument.
