New here, new to modding, but not new to Supreme Ruler.
I was wondering if it would be possible to change the Warsaw Pact countries to be colonies of the USSR (to kind of simulate the effect of being satellite states). I haven't seen a whole lot of info out there about changing the status of independent states into colonies.

Yes this is rather easy to do.
Basically your just going to find each nation you want to switch to a colony in the .CVP
where it says Parentregion you're going to put the region code for the USSR (889 by default)
Rinse and repeat for each nation you want to be a colony.
Recache.
Using this method you can change any nation into a colony of another nation at the start of the game. However there is no way I am aware of to have nations become colonies later on. For instance if you wanted countries to become colonies if they move into the Warsaw Sphere later.

I cannot find my Savegame file in the folder to move the new cache into the Cache folder. That's what's required, correct?
I'm running SRCW through the Gamestop app that used to be called Impulse. Could that have anything to do with it?

It might or it might not. I suggest you start a game make a save and name it something very unique. Then do a windows search for the file. That should help you find where your savegame folder is.
It could also be that you haven't removed the old cache file or renamed the what cache file its looking for so its just using the old one and not creating a cache.
