Thanks for allowing me here as a Member.
Can I change the name of a unit in the default.unit file and have it appear in the game? For instance, change the name of Militia to Fighter and then save the .unit file.
Question 2 - I've read and printed out how to create a Scenario but it just doesn't seem to work. I tried the "Ruges Guide to Adding Units" things have changed a little in 1936 and the instructions are really for GC or 2020. I got my game from STEAM so even the directories don't match up correctly and when I got to CACHE the scenario, it all seems to work ok but I start as Egypt when I set everything up to play as Germany. Can't figure that out either. Do you have any instructions for a newbie to create a scenario or sandbox (even better) game using all my new units that I've saved in another .unit file?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Thanks in advance for any help. 1. Yes but you'll need to cache before the changes will take effect. 2. That particular issue is usually caused by a region include / CVP mismatch. 2.1 The major thing about modding SR is understanding the file structure.. since the actual modifications are pretty simple text changes the big issues that usually pop up are going to involve wrong/borked/mismatched files themselves rather than a mistake in the text editing. Study the .scenario file good and hard since this file literally points to every file needed for the game to run. If you want to look at one thats not all scrunched together and easier to read download any of my mods (except the modern world) and take a look at those. Being able to read line by line rather than having stuff jammed together goes a long way into understanding wtf is going on in each file. The reason I do not suggest using the modern world as a study case is that a large chunk of the data files for that mod I've kept proprietary. It's likely to confuse you further when its pointing at files that don't exist in the download.
