Is it possible to bring sr2020 roads and rails into the game? Unfortunately, no. Well to be precise, he can put the roads and rails but he can't put their graphic on the map. So you would end up having road but not being able to see it on the map ;D @fistalis Could you test something (if you haven't already ;D)? Would building a road during play over already placed "invisible" road just add the grapics for the road (or rails) instantly or would the construction start all over again or nothing would happen? ;D

Number47 is correct. The roads in Game are part of the Mapx file which is why they show. The only way I could add roads would be via the OOF file which won't add the art to the map. I think it would just be more headaches for me to do it that way.
BG has stated they want to release modding tools once or twice but I imagine its taken a back seat to fixes etc.. So maybe if they ever get around to that we can get a MapX editor.
(using the 2020 MapX won't work either I tried that when I first started on the mod)
Edit: If someone wants to come up with a symmetrical piece of art that would work for roads no matter which direction they actual go That would work. However the only thing I could think of would be a grid that would look horrible on the map.
@47 Just try to build a road over a preexisting road in game. I don't think it will let you.

All I hear is a construction noise (sound)...not sure how to determine did it let me do it...that's why I thought if one would try to build road over existing "invisible road", the game wouldn't let him but would add graphic...

Well next time I go to build a cache I'll slip a road into the OOF and test it. But i'm pretty sure it won't add the art.
