Bring out the option of player re-payment of debt, that the codl war version now has? Not sure what you mean. The manual repayment of debt is built into this mod. There is a UI option which I added in the treasury menu where you can choose to pay off a bond yourself. The cold war version you just tell your Advisor to do it and he does it if he has something like 2x the funds needed to pay off a bond. This still works, but since the advisor needs like 2x the amount of a bond before hell pay one off it doesn't work well with the size of bonds in the modern world mod which was one of the reasons I took the time and effort of adding the manual buy back menu.

Red one denotes buying back selected bond. Green one is to take out a new bond. Again the cold war method of leaving it to your advisor works but he needs like 2x or more money of the bond value before he will pay one off. I persnally prefer the control that my added UI adds for manual bond control, but if you want to leave it to advisors you can. I'm just not sure what you meant in your OP about the CW method of players controling bonds since in CW you have to leave it to your advisor. (which again you can still do but due to how the advisor controls bonds it would take forever to pay off some countries starting debt in the modern world if left to them) Attachments:

Also its worth noting that ALL UI changes effect the basic game as well. So once the modern world is installed this manual buy back of bonds menu will be available in the vanilla cold war game as well as the modern world. (a long with the sat menu, Exporter/importer menu and UN status menus all of which are custom UI added by the modern world)

red only appears if you have a current bond selected. and you can only pay off one bond per day.
When you pull up the bond screen you will see a list of bonds currently taken out.. to pay it back select one of them, the red button will appear then click the red button. If you have no current bonds, haven't selected one or don't have the funds to pay the selected bond back then the red button will not appear
Edited for clarity and to fix my horrible typing from my phone lol.

Wow bonds were selected, NO RED or for that matter green button appears PERIOD. EDIT: Going by your other post I'm guessing you're playing as japan. Yes they start out with their debt completely maxed and a LONG way away from having the cash to pay off the debt they have. You will see neither button for them til you save up enough cash to pay off some of their existing bonds. I kept the previous post below for posterity But i'm relatively certain that its just due to the situation japan starts in economically. (maxed debt = no green button, Not enough cash on hand to pay off a bond = no red button) Is this for all countries in all situations? (green might not show up if you have already maxed your debt I don't remember, and I've already listed reasons red might now show) If those aren't the case and you don't see the option no matter what then..
it Sounds like you're missing some UI files. DId you reinstall the mod AFTER the update?
Can try reinstalling. I don't have time now But ill do a complete new install of SRCW and install the mod to see if maybe I borked some files when I get a chance. (another possibility is if you run steam, steam may think my UI files are older than the existing ones and replace it with the default ones Not sure exactly since I dont have SRCW on steam()

I can confirm that the red button is not available if your single bond amount is larger than your "money in account". For example, a country has issued 13 bonds, every one in amount of 4.500$ coming up to total debt of 58.500. If my bank has only 4.300, the red button will not show but as soon as my bank goes above 4.500 (the single bonds amount), lets say 5.000, the red button will become available...

well i abandoned that box. I developed anti vaccines and it literally ruined my economy and made 40% of my pop desert me. I think Its a bug. As no adjustments I made to anything made any difference. I ran the sandbox til my treasury was into negative figures and almost half of my pop left. Anyone ever have this happen to them?
As for the red button. IDK like i said I was so ticked at it I quit playing it. Started over as Argentina.
