So, I recently decided to challenge myself by playing a game as the Emirate of Waziristan. Early on in the game I got a transit treaty with Pakistan so that they could help me. Unfortunately Pakistan did not mobilize to help me despite our mutual defense treaty so I had to go it alone. I committed all my forces to a massive offensive south of Kabul and I was able to hold the line at Ghazni long enough for a few Pakistani reinforcements to arrive. After holding Ghazni for a while I was able to get a peace treaty with Afghanistan. After doing this I spent several months building up my military and stockpiling materials until finally in the last week of October 2013 I broke the ceasefire and advanced into northern Afghanistan. Early on it looked like I would win the war easily as my forces tore through NATO and Afghan troops like they were wet toilet paper. I swept away tons of opposing troops and made it all the way to Kabul before suddenly I hit a brick wall. NATO suddenly started actually fighting me and somehow they managed to hold Kabul. My forces started getting the crap beat out of them so I reluctantly agreed to another ceasefire with Afghanistan despite the fact that my forces were literally one hex outside of Kabul. I have spent the time since then building up, fortifying my position and modernizing as best I can. I researched some units and bought a few unit designs from North Korea. This is the situation at present I am planning on abandoning the ceasefire soon and finally finishing off Karzai for good.

Good Job. This was certainly meant to be one of the more challenging scenarios to play out in this mod. Many people have commented its impossible. But the fact is that if you take a longer term outlook it can accomplished. NATO is in the midsts of withdrawing so to simulate that political mind set they can't send new units there(no transit treaties, by the games definition, exist with any neighboring nations). So its a matter of whittling them down.
